Day 81: We Only Have Today

We only have today. We really do. That’s it. Tomorrow is not guaranteed.

Nearly 60 people have died, and hundreds of others are likely fighting for their lives following another horrendous terrorist attack at a country concert in Las Vegas.

And now it’s been confirmed that Tom Petty has died after suffering full cardiac arrest.

There’s so many other tragedies unfolding in the world. So much suffering. My heart is so heavy and so sad. I can’t get a full breath today.

In times of grief, despair, and immense confusion, I’m reminded that we only have the present moment. There are no guarantees that tomorrow happens at all.

Love deeply, let your loved ones know how you feel. Be present in their lives. Be present in your own.

Mr. Petty – Rest in Peace Good Sir. Thank you for your incredible contribution to this world. Your music is the soundtrack of so many lives, mine included. Thank goodness we were able to enjoy your talents live just a few months ago. It’s already hard to believe that you’re gone. I don’t think I’ll believe it for a while yet.

Learning to Fly – My husband and I walked down the aisle together as a brand-new married couple to this song. I have so many memories attached to a Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers song. My heart is profoundly broken indeed. Kind of ironic.

Dear readers…I love you. Thank you for being here. Much love, many hugs. โค

It was a sad moment for me as well. I remembered him by listening to songs and thinking about the moment. So many days go by that we pass by the moments that have meaning. Try not to be too sad. Life goes on and we find things to smile about. ๐Ÿ˜™๐Ÿ˜™๐Ÿ˜™
